Our Hotel
Our hotel, located in the heart of our vineyard estate, was once home to the viticultural school that played a defining role in the history of Tokaj-Hegyalja. Constructed in the aftermath of the phylloxera epidemic, it served for many years as a place where generations of vineyard workers and cellar masters learned their craft.
When the Degenfeld family began searching for a cellar with the right conditions to accompany their newly established vineyards in the 1990s, they discovered what is now the estate. Along with the vineyards and cellar came the abandoned building of the former viticulture school. Count Sándor Degenfeld originally envisioned transforming it into the family's Hungarian residence.
His daughter, Countess Mária Degenfeld, and her husband, Dr. Thomas Lindner, however, had always found great joy in welcoming guests. They felt that a house of this size was simply too special to be enjoyed only by their family, and decided instead to open its doors to others. This vision gave birth to the boutique hotel that welcomes guests today—a place where we are delighted to share everything this estate, its natural surroundings, its wines and the Tokaj wine region mean to us.
Today, the historic building is home to a boutique hotel with 21 rooms. Its atmosphere has been shaped by the personal taste and vision of Countess Mária Degenfeld, while the estate continues to be guided by the same values: thoughtful hospitality, deep respect for nature, and a genuine desire for every guest to feel truly at home.

Our Lounges
„Fortissimo” Salon
The “Fortissimo” Salon is a place for conversations, connection, and time well spent together. It is a space where conversations begun earlier in the day can continue over a glass of wine, where a
board game or a deck of cards may appear on the table, and where there is no rush to be anywhere else.
Whether it is an evening spent in good company, a friendly game, or an unexpected encounter, the salon provides a setting for those simple moments that often become the most memorable.
„Andante” Salon
The “Andante” Salon is one of the estate’s quietest and most intimate spaces. Tucked away beside the “Fortissimo” Salon, it offers a peaceful retreat for those who wish to slow down, lose themselves in a good book, or simply enjoy each other’s company without interruption.
A place where there is nowhere to rush to, and where the calm of silence is as much a part of the experience as the conversations that unfold within it.
The salon also serves as the setting for some of the estate’s most special occasions. The candlelit dinner included in our Romantic Package is hosted here, making shared moments even more intimate and memorable.

Finnish Sauna
Located in the pool house just a short walk from the hotel, our Finnish sauna with light therapy offers a
peaceful space to unwind. Surrounded by the tranquillity of the estate and the nearby natural landscape, it is the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and enjoy a moment of calm after an active day.
Panoramic Trail to the Terézia Chapel
Discover the beauty of our estate along our panoramic walking trail. This picturesque path winds through rows of organically cultivated vineyards, revealing breathtaking views at every turn. The trail leads to the charming Terézia Chapel, gracefully perched above the vines, offering a serene and idyllic setting. Immerse yourself in the harmony of nature and the tranquility of the landscape as you enjoy this unforgettable walk through the heart of the estate.
Tennis Court Rental
Our tennis court offers the perfect setting for a friendly match, an energising training session, or simply an active morning outdoors. Surrounded by the tranquillity of the estate and the nearby vineyards, every game comes with a unique atmosphere, whether you are an occasional player or a regular on the court.
Rental fee: HUF 3,000 / hour
Hotel guests may use the court free of charge. Tennis equipment is also available upon request.
Pétanque Court Rental
Pétanque is one of the most beloved social games of the South of France – easy to learn, enjoyable for all ages, and best played in good company. A glass of wine, a friendly conversation, and a few well-
aimed throws are often all it takes for a relaxing afternoon on the estate.
Rental fee: HUF 3,000 / hour
Hotel guests may use the pétanque court free of charge.
Outdoor chess
Step beyond the four walls and put your strategic brilliance to the test. Challenge friends and family to a game in the open air while surrounded by the beauty of nature. And who knows—your next move might just be closely observed by a curious squirrel from a nearby tree!
