Wines
In addition to the Tokaj-Hegyalja traditional speciality wines (Szamorodni, Fordítás, Aszú) the estate also produces excellent semi-sweet and sweet, as well as dry and semi-dry wines from the traditional grape varieties of the wine region: Furmint, Hárslevelű and Muscat Lunel. The Gróf Degenfeld family are believers in the Tokaj traditions and are proud to associate their name with their wines striving for first class quality.
Following the family tradition, the principle of "The duty of nobility", the estate makes no compromises in their expectations of quality they follow the strict quantity limits and guidelines for the vineyards, bunches and grapes selection.
TOKAJI FORTISSIMO Late Harvest 2007
2008, sweet, Cuvée
Method of production
In 2006 we once again produced a blended wine, which we have named Fortissimo. Remaining true to the original conception, we married the outstanding Tokaj grapes (Furmint, Hárslevelű and Muscat Lunel) and let the result mature up to 70% in wooden barrels.
Tastes
The characteristic liveliness is due to barrel maturation, the proportions of the grape types and, naturally, the qualities inherent in the vintage. A lighter wine, Fortissimo opens with the spiced corn typical of Hárslevelű before the aromatic Muscat Lunel makes its slow but sure way to the fore.
Recommended with
It is a lively, easy-to-drink wine with delicate acids and a long finish, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany desserts.
